Married in Disguise - Episode 3

  After the death of Omo's father, things became very rough for her family. Just 3 months after her father's death, her uncle came to her mother. Woman, I know you're not ready to get married to any one in the family again. We can't sit, and watch us all die in hunger. It is time to look for another surviving means for the family. What could that be ? asked Omo's mother. It is simple, since Omo is through with her secondary school, I have found a man for her. He's rich and he will shoulder our responsibilities. You've done what? What about your daughters? Are they not ripe for marriage? Why Omo who is just 17 years old? Oh death, you are so cruel. She broke down in tears.
 
Hey! Woman, just keep those questions to yourself and wipe off those ancient tears from your face. Listen, the man will be coming tomorrow to finalize everything and take her to the city with him tomorrow. Just like that? Asked Omo 's mother. Yes just like that. He hissed and left the room.
Omowoma returned from the market all drenched. She quickly rushed to the kitchen to boil water to take her bath. She didn't noticed her mum by the corner. She went to the room, looking for her mum and sister who also were unaware of her presence in the house but she couldn't find any of them inside. As she turned to go out, she saw her mother gazing at the ceiling, lost in thoughts. Mama! She shouted. Oh Omo you're back. I didn't see you coming. Mama, I am not just coming, I've been looking for you and Elo. Sorry my daughter, I was sleeping. Sleeping? With your eyes open? Mama tell me, what is the matter? She broke down in tears. Omo's mother is not used to hiding anything from her children. She tried hiding her tears but she couldn't. Mama, stop crying and tell me what the matter is.
 
My child, he was here. What for this time around? Asked Omo disdainfully. My child, I'm powerless. How I wish your father was alive. Tell me Mama, why was he here?
